Remote Mommy
Alexis gets to experience the pleasure of mastery and control by doing something that is usually only for grown-ups to do. And what makes it even more fun for Alexis is that Mommy reacts in a silly and spontaneous way, even letting Alexis decide what reaction Mommy should do!

Monster Cops
Daddy uses gesture and routine to teach Erica that she is more powerful than “monsters”. Instead of being afraid of the monsters, she’s scaring them away while Daddy praises and encourages her. This Discovery turns something that can be frightening—like monsters—into an experience that builds confidence!

Sumo
The whole family gets to have fun with this Discovery that has Jack and Claire bump into the tummies of others and of Mommy and Daddy. Jack gets to discover how an experience that can sometimes be distressing can also bring laughter. The pleasurable surprise helps Jack learn to adjust flexibly to life’s many bumps ahead!

Hair Clip Slip
Donnie’s Dad shows him that everyday objects can be the source of laughter when he puts a hair clip on a pop can, only to have it pop off! The anticipation of the clip popping off creates a predictable surprise for Donnie and Dad, who both chuckle. Donnie’s fun is multiplied because he can grab the clip and zip around the yard.

Hat Pop
This Discovery engages many of Donnie’s senses as he enjoys the surprise of a hat “popping off” Daddy’s head. He watches the hat while jumping nearby and then when it does pop off, Donnie gets to toddle off with the hat, which starts the fun of Daddy coming after him.

Turkey Kisses
Niki is surprised and then pleased by the gentle nuzzling and soft words from her Mom. The love and physical closeness make this a delightful interaction for both!

Top

Ear Kisses
The incongruity of having kisses on unusual facial features (nose or ears) makes Carlin laugh. Daddy adds to the fun by letting Carlin be in charge of where the kisses go! When Carlin wants to kiss Daddy’s ear (an activity she just discovered feels nice), he pretends he doesn’t like it, which brings on even more gales of laughter.

Air Mattress Romp
Rory loves seeing his sister jump on the mattress and feeling the rocking that she causes. Daddy’s laughter helps make the surprise of Riayn’s jumping and the mattress rocking feel fun and safe for Rory, rather than startling and scary.

Baby Cheerleader
Eileen enjoys the rhythm, physical movement and joyful interaction with Mom. This Discovery engages Eileen’s motor, language and social development as Mom smiles, laughs and talks to her.

Top

Up Down
Little Shelby and older sister Bradleigh enjoy the rhythmic movement of their bodies with helpful guidance of their Mommy and Nanny. For Shelby it is fun and empowering to be able to play the same games as her big sister. For Bradleigh extra fun is added when her Nanny gently tickles her to spice up these basic stretches. This Discovery involves the whole family and stresses the importance of movement and interactive play between caregiver and child.

Roller Coaster Training
Mom and Dad give Julianna the sensation of her body moving through space in a safe, pleasing way. She enjoys the swinging up and down while her parents talk and laugh with her, making her feel loved and secure.

In the second half of this Discovery, Sage enjoys the thrill of being high up in the air, yet still feels secure that Mommy won’t let her fall. Her enjoyment grows as she turns the tables and tells Mommy what to do by saying “Again, Again!” When Mom gladly follows Sage’s direction, her confidence in guiding their play grows.
