Steam Rollin' Sandwich
Everyone loves to roll gently down a hill. The sense of spinning is fun for both Dad and Chance. Chance has the fun of being safe in Daddy’s arms and the enjoyment of sharing the experience with him. Daddy supports Chance’s feeling of safety and pleasure by letting him control when the rolling starts by jumping onto Daddy. This discovery supports motor development and builds the closeness and trust in the relationship between Dad and Chance.

Pillow Mountain
In this discovery, the kids get to take apart the furniture (which is fun all by itself) to make a soft, plush mountain. Doing unexpected things with common objects, like building a mountain out of cushions, is not only fun for kids, but it expands their mental flexibility and thinking skills. The mountain provides a safe and enjoyable place for climbing, hiding and tumbling. This physical activity and the sense of risk and surprise in falling into the pillows make this discovery a sure way to bring out chuckles and giggles!

Fun Sheet
Aaron enjoys a lot of fun stimulation in this discovery. Mom and Dad expand on peek-a-boo by using a big sheet that allows them to hide, cuddle under it and rock Aaron back and forth. Aaron laughs at the surprises, the pleasurable sensations and the shared laughter with his loving parents.

Clean Up Time
Being wrapped up tight with sister and carried around brings on giggles for both girls, but also gives them a sense of physical and emotional closeness to each other. Mom pretends to be surprised that the girls are not the trash she thought she was cleaning up. This gives the girls the fun of thinking that they “tricked” mom, something that’s guaranteed to make kids laugh .

Peak & Eat Diner
Amanda knows that things should re-appear in the same place that they were last seen. So when Mom changes that assumption and surprises her by being somewhere else, Amanda laughs in delight. Mom’s bright face and sparkling smile coming towards her bring on even more giggles for Amanda and Mom!

Small places feel safe for little ones and they enjoy having the motor skills and the control to move in and out of the space. Getting Daddy to chase him and crawl through the fort makes this game even more fun as Charlie learns about leaving his parents without being afraid.

In this Discovery, Mom makes a familiar game of Peek-a-boo more interesting by adding sunglasses. Molly has fun seeing the world in different lights while still safe in a warm interchange with Mom. All this helps her learn that different doesn’t have to be scary, and can even be fun and exciting sometimes!

Hand Games
Daddy’s enthusiasm at Chance’s ability to listen, follow directions and “Cut the Pickle” really makes Chance excited to participate. By laughing and tickling Chance each time he successfully plays the game, Daddy reinforces that listening and following directions can produce fun rewards. In the second segment of this Discovery, Van is learning how to follow a series of directions. He listens more closely when he’s having fun. Mom adds a few spins by letting Van anticipate the end of the game, but varying the outcome. This keeps Van interested and focused. Van is also excited to see that through listening closely and repetitive play, he is learning the game and is soon the winner! With Mommy giggling and jumping in surprise as Van quickly masters the different variations of Hand Games, this is sure to be a Discovery that will be played for years to come!
